For Sale: Kadey Krogen 54 "URSA MAJOR"
OUR STORY
As life-long sailors, we moved onto our first trawler, a Grand Banks 42, in 2008. Great boat but not for offshore passage making. The search started for a trawler with sails. We discovered the Kadey Krogen 54 and fell hard for her. We made her our home from 2017 to date, cruising the East Coast, exploring Northern Maine to Southern Florida, and everywhere in between.
Each area has its own charms and challenges, but Ursa Major coped and kept us safe and secure during our multiple trips following the sun. Along the way, we have made new lifetime friends, many starting with discussions about our boat. We have made passages along the ICW and also traveled the length of the country offshore. Both proved easy to do mainly because of her very practical and easy layout. Throughout our travels we have taken care to upgrade the boat to meet the requirements we felt necessary, sparing no expense to add or replace systems. A list of all upgrades, refits, and replacements along with their cost and date of service are available to interested buyers.
As much as we have enjoyed the lifestyle, we are ready for our next chapter. With the arrival of a 4th grandchild, we are now actively looking for the next custodians for KK Ursa Major who will love her, use her, and raise her sails at every opportunity.
She is a rewarding boat on which to travel, is very much a head-turner, and is a great conversation starter when we pass, anchor, moor, or stay at marinas.
